Terms of Service

Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mint (“the Software”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Mint is a macOS desktop application that helps users organize, categorize, and manage files on their local computer. The Software uses on-device technologies including OCR (via Apple Vision), metadata analysis, language detection, and image classification to analyze and organize files. All processing occurs locally on your Mac.

3. License Tiers

Free Tier

Mint offers a permanent free tier with every core feature available, including all organize templates, cleanup rules, automatic organization for folders the user explicitly configures, history, and undo. The free tier applies a weekly throughput cap of up to 210 files organized and 3.5 GB cleaned per week, resetting every Monday.

Paid Licenses

Mint Unlimited removes the weekly processing quota that applies to Mint Free and provides unlimited organize and cleanup throughput. A direct website license is a perpetual, one-time purchase processed through LemonSqueezy and is not a subscription. The public direct license covers one Mac unless the checkout and order receipt expressly state otherwise. Each direct license includes updates released during the first year after purchase. Every covered version may be used indefinitely. After the included update year ends, covered versions continue to work and renewal is optional unless you want a later release. The Mac App Store version offers equivalent Unlimited access only through a one-time Lifetime In-App Purchase; Mint does not offer a recurring App Store subscription. The Setapp edition may be offered as a one-time purchase or individual subscription through the Setapp Marketplace. Available license models, prices, billing periods, update rights, and device limits are displayed through the applicable distribution channel at the time of purchase.

4. Free Plan and Usage Limits

Mint Free is not a time-limited trial and does not require payment information. Every feature included in the installed edition remains usable. The weekly throughput cap is up to 210 files organized and 3.5 GB cleaned per week, resetting every Monday. Purchasing Mint Unlimited removes that cap.

5. Payment and Refunds

Direct website purchases are processed securely through LemonSqueezy. Mac App Store purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Setapp Marketplace purchases are processed by Setapp, which manages licensing, payments, applicable taxes, and first-line billing and licensing support for the Setapp edition. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Direct purchase refunds: We want you to be satisfied with Mint. If you are not happy with a direct website purchase, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date. To request a refund, contact us through our website or reply to your purchase confirmation email. Refunds are processed through LemonSqueezy and typically appear within 5–10 business days.

App Store purchase refunds: Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple Media Services terms. To request a refund for an App Store purchase, use Apple’s purchase history and refund flow.

Setapp purchase refunds and cancellations: Refunds, cancellations, renewals, and billing support for purchases made through the Setapp Marketplace are handled by Setapp under the terms and purchase flow presented by Setapp.

6. Software Provided As-Is

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

While we strive to make Mint reliable and accurate, no software can guarantee perfect file organization in every scenario. We recommend reviewing Mint’s proposed changes before applying them and maintaining regular backups of your important files.

7. User Responsibility for Files

You are solely responsible for your files and data. Mint provides tools to organize and manage your files, including an undo feature that allows you to reverse recent file operations. However:

  • We do not guarantee that all operations can be undone in every circumstance.
  • We are not responsible for any data loss, file corruption, or unintended file modifications that may occur during use of the Software.
  • We strongly recommend maintaining independent backups of your files before using any automated file organization tool, including Mint.
  • The undo history is stored locally and may be cleared if you uninstall the application or delete its support files.

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

8. Intellectual Property

Mint, including its name, logo, user interface design, source code, documentation, and all related materials, is the intellectual property of the Mint team and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your purchase of a license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Software in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Software.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except where permitted by applicable law.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software.
  • Use the Mint name, logo, or branding for any purpose without prior written permission.
  • Share, transfer, or sublicense your license key to third parties.

9. License Restrictions

For direct website purchases, we reserve the right to deactivate license keys that are found to be shared, redistributed, or used in violation of these Terms. App Store entitlements are tied to the Apple Account used for purchase and are managed through Apple. Setapp entitlements and device limits are tied to the applicable Setapp account and purchase and are managed through Setapp. If you believe your access was deactivated or unavailable in error, please contact the support channel for the distribution platform where you obtained Mint.

10. Updates and Support

Updates are provided through the distribution channel where you obtained the Software, including direct downloads from our website, Sparkle updates, Mac App Store updates, or Setapp updates. A direct Mint Unlimited license includes releases published during the first year after purchase; access to later releases may require an optional renewal. Expiration of the included update window does not disable any covered version. We will make reasonable efforts to provide product support through our website contact form but do not guarantee specific response times or resolution of all issues. Setapp provides first-line support for Setapp billing and licensing matters.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it from your Mac. We may terminate or suspend your paid license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to Unlimited throughput ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, and Disclaimer of Warranties) will remain in effect.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR MINT LICENSE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Mint team operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, binding arbitration.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the application or website.

16.3 Maintenance and Support

DZG Studio LLC is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the Software, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Software.

16.4 Warranty

DZG Studio LLC is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed in these Terms. In the event of any failure of the Software to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Software to you; and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Software, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of DZG Studio LLC.

16.5 Product Claims

16.9 Third Party Terms of Agreement

You must comply with applicable third party terms of agreement when using the Software.

16.10 Third Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third party beneficiary thereof.

16.11 One-Time App Store Purchase

The App Store version of Mint offers Lifetime Unlimited as a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase. The price is displayed inside the app before purchase. It does not renew and does not create a recurring Mint subscription. Apple processes the purchase, restoration, and any refund request under Apple Media Services terms.

17. Setapp Marketplace Addendum

This Addendum applies only when you obtain Mint through the Setapp Marketplace. For Setapp purchases, the following terms supplement Sections 1–15 above.

17.1 Setapp Terms

Your purchase and use of Mint through Setapp are also subject to Setapp’s applicable terms of use and privacy notice. If these Terms conflict with Setapp’s terms regarding a Setapp transaction, billing, entitlement, device limit, cancellation, or refund, Setapp’s applicable terms control for that matter.

17.2 Licensing and Purchases

Setapp manages distribution, licensing, payments, applicable taxes, entitlement validation, and device limits for the Setapp edition. The available license model, price, billing period, renewal terms, trial terms, and device allowance are shown by Setapp before purchase.

17.3 Platform Data

The Setapp edition includes the Setapp Framework. Setapp may collect limited usage, performance, and device information from users who activate Mint through Setapp for licensing, distribution, reliability, and developer reporting. Mint does not send Setapp your file contents, filenames, folder structure, or Mint activity and undo history. See our Privacy Policy and Setapp’s Privacy Notice for details.

17.4 Support

Setapp provides first-line support for billing and licensing issues related to Setapp purchases. DZG Studio LLC remains responsible for Mint’s functionality and product support. Product questions can be sent to [email protected] or submitted through our contact form.
